Ballet Mississippipresents its Nutcracker with guest stars Veronika Part and Blaine Hoven.

Moscow Balletbrings its Great Russian Nutcracker to North Dakota.

Set to Peter Tchaikovsky’s famous score, Moscow Ballet’s production features lavish costumes, nine hand-painted backdrops with 3-D ornamentation and fanciful, larger-than-life puppets designed by Russian puppet master Valentin Federov. This show is appropriate for the whole family.

Dozens of Grand Forks area youth have been chosen to perform alongside the Russian professionals for the “Great Russian Nutcracker.” Dance, etc! of Grand Forks has been the host studio for the Moscow Ballet student program, with a Moscow Ballet Russian master dance instructor and soloist serving as audition and rehearsal director. Birmingham plans its next International Dance Festival.

Sylvie Guillem together with Russell Maliphant, Royal Ballet of Flanders, controversial Canadian choreographer Dave St-Pierre, Danza Contemporanea de Cuba and Jonzi D have all been confirmed for the month-long festival next spring.

More than 1,000 people are also being asked to get involved in a huge public event called Home. Based on people's ideas of the meaning of home, the final performance will see dancers moving through the streets of the city performing on doormats.
