Helene Posted June 28, 2011 Share Posted June 28, 2011 In 2001, in response to some questions in other threads, Alexandra posted a note from George Jackson about Fridirica Derra de Moroda in this thread: We just received an inquiry from a new member, who writes: I am researching the life of Fridirica Derra de Moroda 1897-1978.Google sent me to your site and I see you have some info on the above ( circa 2001 ) but was wondering if there is any more available info about her saving Jewish dancers during WW2 and placing them in her Berlin dance company? Or could you direct me to someone who is an authority on this person? I am working on a project that is indirectly connected to her and of course ballet. If anyone has any leads, please feel free to post them here, or, if you'd prefer to contact this poster directly, since she doesn't have PM privileges, please PM me or email through our "Contact Us" link, and I'll pass it on. Madame de Moroda is for me one of those dance personalities of whom I have always wanted to know more, but have been cautious in going outside of my main areas of interest.
