Glad to hear about the Ashton program--I withdraw my objections to the new season! Monotones I and II is (in my opinion) the really choice piece of Ashton on that program and also makes "aesthetic/intellectual" sense as an Ashton work whose pristine formal qualities still challenge any contemporary non-narrative choreography the company wants to feature.
