2011-2012 season announcement

Recommended Posts

Edward Villella had a few things to say apropos next season, as well as the subject of what it takes to get a ballet for the repertory, in his pre-performance remarks in the Broward CPA this weekend:

Q: Next season has [only?] two Balanchines. A: This has been our most expensive season ever, because there's been a company premiere on each program. That's why next season is as it is.

What it takes to get a ballet is to get permission from one of the trusts which holds the rights to it, then pay a license fee, preferably for five years, instead of the usual three, plus a royalty for each performance.

William Forsythe? His work doesn't quite suit [fit?] the manner and style we seek.
