DONALD KRAMER APPOINTED CHAIRMAN

OF BOARD OF GOVERNING TRUSTEES

FOR AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE

The Board of Governing Trustees of American Ballet Theatre has appointed Donald Kramer as Chairman. The appointment was announced today by ABT Executive Director Rachel S. Moore. Kramer succeeds Edward A. Fox who has held the position as Chairman since 2007.

Donald Kramer has been a member of the Board of Governing Trustees of American Ballet Theatre since 2005. He was the Founder and former Chairman of Ariel Holdings Ltd. of Bermuda, and was also the Vice Chairman of ACE Limited. A Chartered Analyst, Kramer was the founder of several successful insurance companies, following his retirement from the Wall Street community. He is currently a director of the National Benefit Life Insurance Company of New York (a subsidiary of Primerica), and is co-chairman of Bermuda First, a think tank dedicated to improving the island’s economy and social welfare.

Since 2003, Kramer has served as Chairman of the National Dance Foundation of Bermuda (NDFB), a non-profit, Bermuda-based organization whose mission is to provide world-class training to the Bermuda dance community. Since its inception, the Foundation has granted numerous scholarships and financial aid to Bermuda dancers. In 2005, the National Dance Foundation established DanceBermuda, an international three-week summer intensive for local and visiting students run in partnership with American Ballet Theatre. DanceBermuda is the only dance-study program offered by ABT outside of the United States.

Kramer is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Brooklyn College Foundation, where he holds a BA and an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters. He holds an MBA from New York University.

“I look forward to continuing the superb work that Ed Fox has dedicated so much time towards,” said Kramer. “I have watched American Ballet Theatre perform brilliantly on stage, and equally well off-stage, as a well-run organization that has weathered the economic downturn.”

“Don Kramer’s commitment to American Ballet Theatre over the past five years has been unfailing,” said Rachel S. Moore. “I’m confident his leadership of the Board will bode well for our future.”

Former Chairman Edward A. Fox has been named Chairman Emeritus of American Ballet Theatre’s Board of Governing Trustees and will remain a member of the Board and its Executive Committee. “We owe a great debt of thanks to Ed Fox for his Chairmanship over the last four years and for his previous work as Board Vice-Chairman and President,” said ABT Board President Sharon Patrick. “We are proud to honor him today with the title of Chairman Emeritus and look forward to his continuing service to the Board.”
