My company is sending me to Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Korea in fairly rapid succession in late September/early October 2010 and I have the option of choosing one place for an extended weekend. I decided this is an excellent opportunity to explore ballet in other parts of the world. I know it is a narrow time frame, but does anyone know of any performances that I could attend and also take an adult beginning ballet class? I will definitley be bringing my ballet slippers and dance clothes with me. Thank you for your response.

Hope my reply is not too late. In Seoul, Korea, you may enjoy the followings:

- Raymonda by Korea National Ballet Company, from Sep. 25 until Sep. 30

- 13th Seoul International Dance Festival from Sep. 30 till October 20, though I'm not sure you are intereseted in modern/contemprary dance performances.

For detailed schedule, please follow the link. http://www.sidance.org/2010/program/schedule.php

- 2010 The World Festival National Theaters from Sep. 1 till October 30, which includes "A midsummer night's dream" presented by a German ballet company on October 8 and 9. For the details, please see the link. http://www.ntok.go.kr/wfnt2010/eng/main3.jsp

- La Bayadere by Universal Ballet Company starts from October 29, but you can see the highlights on October 12.

- It will be also good to check any ballet performance schedule in Tokyo. It takes about 2 hours from Seoul(Gimpo) to Tokyo(Haneda) by flight.

Hope the above is helpful and you enjoy your stay in Seoul, Korea.
