FBT's performances of The Firebird & Mixed Repertoire was wonderful! I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy The Firebird that much, but Nikolai Kabaniaev's choreography was really great and very exciting, and Jade Payette's performance was excellent. All the dancers did a great job and the costumes and sets really set the mood too.
Molly Lynch, Viktor Plotnikov both had contemporary pieces and Pas dAction from Laurencia was set by Yuri Fateyev, Acting Director of the Mariinsky Ballet Company. Ms. Lynch's piece was beautiful and elegant and V. Plotnikov's Oops was a delight. Laurencia was a great Spanish partnering piece.
These fall shows that FTB puts together are always fun for the variety of pieces they put together. The crowd really enjoyed the performances and standing ovations were awarded the performers!

Oh, I should note that Festival Ballet Theatre is located in Fountain Valley CA, not Anaheim. It is right on the border of Huntington Beach, if people are more familiar with Surf City, USA

It has just been announced that Megan Fairchild and Andrew Veyette of NYCB will be the guest artists for the performances of Coppelia March 26-27!

At $40 a ticket ($30 for children, $36 for senior 60+) and $3 service charge, this is a great deal. The Barclay Theatre at UC Irvine has very nice sightlines. I just bought tickets and most seats are still available, although I suspect that will change now that the guest artists have been announced.
