this Legat caricature of A. I. Chekrigin would seem to present its dancer in the role of Genariello, from Ivanov's 1900 staging of Saint-Leon's 1860, GRAZIELLA, OR THE LOVERS' QUARREL, thus, another role, as it turns out, that was earlier performed by Sergei Legat. (to be sure, photos of S. Legat in this role show him wearing espadrille-like slippers and not just 'regulation' ballet slippers as shown here.)
