Vasiliev Gala at City Center - March 27

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending how you look at it) I have a family function out of town that weekend and will miss that and the YAGP events.

I have one seat each for the YAGP and Vasiliev gala (Friday and Saturday nights), both near center of the first row of Rear Mezz. Hoping to sell for face value but (as the date nears) am willing to consider less. I purchased them on Oct. 11, so they are about as good as can be got at the price. :)

Stars of Tomorrow Meet Stars of Today, Friday, March 26 $55.

Legends of Dance, Saturday, March 27 $36.*

also, Final Round YAGP, rear-mid orch, center Thur, March 25 $25.

PM me if you're interested.

*This is actually a $45 ticket. I bought it at a 20% discount with a coupon. :)

In case anyone was wondering, I called YAGP and was told that Vasiliev will be in attendance.

The one thing they're not sure of is whether or not he'll be available at the stage door to meet fans. He may be whisked off to another event, I guess a party, after the gala.

Which dancers should I really keep my eye on? Thanks!
I hope you have a lot of eyes, MakarovaFan!

i've just learnt that Evgeniya Obraztsova indeed is going to dance at the GALA, i am so thrilled. G-d protect Ms. Obraztsova !!!!

Yevgenia Obraztsova is off the list on the YAPD's website, although she is still listed in the PDF program linked to underneath - she was supposed to dance a solo choreographed by Vasiliev and La Sylphide pdd with Emmanuel Thibault. Anyone knows more? Overall from the PDF it sounds like a very exciting program!

I saw her name on both

here's the links to the programs (subject to change) http://www.yagp.org/gala/YAGP_Gala_%202010...010_program.pdf

What I meant was that it's no longer listed here, while it definitely was recently: http://www.yagp.org/vladimir_vasiliev_site/index.html

But that may just be a mistake.

It's puzzling to be sure. I sort of think that changes might be noted first on the website with revisions to the pdf doc to follow. That hints to me that Obraztsova might be out of the program on March 27. I would say it would pay to compare the website with the pdf to look for hints on what's actually going to play.

To make things even harder to guess at, Obraztsova is currently listed on the PDF for the March 26 date as WELL AS the website. Go figure. It would seem odd she would appear on the 26th and not on the 27th!

Yes re: attendance. The program indicates that Vasiliev will be dancing even -- in a piece he will choreograph!

Does anyone have the program for the Friday night Gala?

Is anyone going and is it worth while to go Friday night?

It looks like the program balletmor posted is for the Vasiliev Gala, which is on Saturday night. The Friday night Gala is their annual "Stars of Today meet Stars of Tomorrow" gala with performances by this years YAGP winners as well as professional dancers. There is a program available in PDF format on the YAGP website. Unfortunately I can't cut or paste from it, but here's the link to the page on their site. Click on the words "Gala Program" for a pdf. The lineup looks good but keep in mind that there are often last minute changes to these gala programs.

If anyone is still interested, I still have 1 unsold ticket for the Vasiliev Gala tomorrow night.

It's Orchestra Row P Seat 3 and I'm willing to go down to $55 cash for the ticket and the transaction can be done just before the show tomorrow outside City Center.
