Hi
I joined the forum because I'm an art student and have given myself the unenviable subject of male ballet dancers to paint. I've just started to do the research and am hoping there may be one or two suggestions anyone with a passion for ballet may be able to provide.
Firstly, I am looking for high resolution photos of male dancers, prefably in groups or on their own. If anyone can help with that, or knows of photographers who specialise in that area then please pass the info on.
What made me decide to choose this as a subject - well the film Billy Elliot - right at the end where they are in the wings waiting to go on - I thought the lighting captured something magic in that split second and i'd like to try and recapture it.
Best Regards
Penny

Welcome Penny,
I can list a few fotowebs that may help you. All you would have to do is type in the name of a dancer in the "Search" block, i.e., Nureyev, Baryshnikov, or any one else.

There are a multitude of photos. Good luck!

I know Gene Schiavone has done many male dancers and his photos are quite good and very painterly! But there are many others.

I'm not sure if this will help, but the names of many dance photographers -- favorites of our members for a variety of reasons -- will be found in this long discussion thread.
