Kaatsbaan will have a residency March 24-29th celebrating the 100 anniversary of the birth of Agnes deMille. There will be a free open rehearsal on Thurs., Mar 26 at 2 p.m. and performances on the 28th and 29th, of a program of mostly Broadway ballets. They will be staged by Gemze de Lappe and they mention that the late Sallie Wilson staged some of the dances.
Act I: "Agnes the Dancer" features Three Virgins and a Devil, Debut at the Opera and Tudor's Judgment of Paris.
Act II: The Choreographer, features dances from Brigadoon, Paint Your Wagon, Carousel and Oklahoma.
It's a beautiful place -- anyone interested in de Mille should try to make it.
