rg
i hadn't realized when i acquired this news service photo of Anna Pavlova on the occasion of her death that the 78th anniversary of the date was upon us this week. by no means to most carefully chosen or presented photo of Mme P., who was quite well known for the retouching she encouraged for her 'image' in publicity, etc. still however clinically the photo has captured her pose, i guess lighting back then need retouching to give it extra help, i find the pose of her hands artful, even if not artfully captured on film. i assume she's costumed for CHRISTMAS? Keith Money's email to me about the photo included the following comment about the birthdate data provided: <<A flattering birth date, at least! I wonder where they found that one.>> Link to comment
ViolinConcerto
Lenses back then were none too sharp, and lighting was none too strong! (And looking at her teeth, I'd say that dentistry was none too common!) Link to comment
