rg
this scan of an undated photo shows the Kirov Ballet's prod. of THE SLEEPING BEAUTY with the Bluebird pas de deux at the center of the stage action. the scenery is not the Virsiladze scheme associated with the 1952, K. Sergeyev production, so it must be a previous production, though Krassovskaya's entry in the IED says Lopukhov's (previous) 1922 prod. used the Korovin designs, which also differ from those seen in this photo. perhaps by the time of this staging, Korovin's designs had to be replaced.
