A project near and dear to my heart

National  Choreographers Initiative
directed by Molly Lynch
Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 8pm

Be there for the birth of, not one, but four new ballets created as part  of the intensive 3-week process of the National Choreographers  Initiative. Director Molly Lynch is inviting choreographers of note, as  well as up-and coming artists of promise, to participate. The project  culminates in this public performance that showcases the excitement of  new creation. Included in the showing will be comments and a discussion  with the choreographers and artistic director Molly Lynch.

This year's choreographers include:

Ma Cong - One of Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch" in 2006!

Emory LeCrone - Work premiered in Ballet Builders 2008!

Amy Seiwert - Choreographer in Residence, Smuin Ballet.  Dance Magazine "25 to Watch" in 2005!

Edmond Stripe - Choreographer and ballet master, Alberta Ballet!


Tickets: $28,  students 1/2 price

Tickets now available at Irvine Barclay Theatre website.  www.thebarclay.org

Thanks, Gillian, and welcome in from lurkdom.  New ballet choreographers need all the opportunity to create and be seen that they can get.  I hope some of our West  Coast members will "be there" and report back.
