Celebrating Jerome Robbins: NYCB @ JCC

Recommended Posts

Thanks to a buddy:

The JCC is privileged to partner with New York City Ballet as the company marks the ten-year anniversary of the death of this brilliant choreographer. Robbins’ work spanned 50 years in both the theatre where he was the force behind some of Broadway’s biggest hits (Gypsy, The King and I, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof) and at New York City Ballet, where ballets such as The Concert, Dances at a Gathering, Watermill, The Four Seasons, Ives Songs, West Side Story Suite, and many more reflect his New York City roots, classical training and extraordinary sense of theatricality. The evening will include film clips of Jerome Robbins rehearsing his dances, a panel discussion about Robbins—the man and his work—with Ellen Sorrin, member of the Advisory Committee of the Jerome Robbins Trust and Jock Soto, a former principal New York City dancer. Members of the company will also perform excerpts from Robbins' dances.

Mon, Jun 23, 7 pm, $15/$20 JJLJER00S8
