Welcome back to the Miami City Ballet forum. And thanks to Alexandra and Helene for pulling together the dispersed threads from the past year.

From the company website, here are the promotions for 2008. Congratulations to all. Any thoughts from MCB fans?

Promoted to Principal:
-- Jeanette Delgado, who had an incredible season, dancing in a wide variety of principal roles, from Tarantella to Square Dance and Pas de Dix; her sister Patricia was raised to Principal last year.
-- Isanusi Garcia-Rodriguez, a mesmerising dancer who returned to the company last year and had a triumph in the Tharp/Costello Nightspot.

Promoted to Principal Soloist:
-- Didier Bramaz, a gentle classicist and attentive partner who excelled this season in Emeralds and Sonatine and was a real surprise in Nine Sinatra Songs;

Promoted to Soloist:
-- Alexandre Dufaur, whom I haven't seen in solo work so far, but he grew a lot in 2007-2008 and has become someone who always captured the eye in the corps.
-- Alynne Noelle, an impressive Tall Girl in Rubies.

Promoted to the Corps de ballet:
-- Michael Sean Breedon
-- Bradley Dunlop
-- Ezra Hurwitz
-- Rebecca King
-- Elice McKinley
-- Chaz Meszaros
-- Christie Sciturro
-- Amir Yogev

Promoted to Company Apprentice
-- Peter Doll
-- Gabriela Gonzalez

New School Apprentices
-- Yaolli Sanchez
-- Carling Talcott

That's 56 dancers, just about enough for the Don Quixote and Symphony in C planned for next year, and for a big swan corp for Balanchine's Swan Lake Act II.

C'mon, it was ridiculous that it hadn't happened before...! Anyways, congrats cubanita! :)

-- Isanusi Garcia-Rodriguez, a mesmerising dancer who returned to the company last year and had a triumph in the Tharp/Costello Nightspot.

Indeed, the best guguanco dancer in the company. Congrats cubanito! :clapping:
