MULTICULTURAL HERITAGE WITH NOCHE LATINA, AN EVENING OF DANCE CELEBRATING LATIN AMERICAN AND SPANISH ARTISTS,

TUESDAY, JUNE 10, 2008 AT THE METROPOLITAN OPERA HOUSE

Latin and Spanish Cast to Lead Performance of Don Quixote starring

Paloma Herrera and Angel Corella

Evening to Honor Carolina Herrera and Julio Bocca

An all-star performance of American Ballet Theatre’s Don Quixote, led by the Company’s leading Latin and Spanish artists, will celebrate Latin culture on Tuesday, June 10 at the Metropolitan Opera House. Noche Latina will star Argentine Principal Dancer Paloma Herrera as Kitri and Spaniard Principal Angel Corella as Basilio in a one-time gala performance of the full-length Don Quixote, based on the famous 17th century novel by Miguel Cervantes.

In addition to the leading roles, supporting roles will be performed by American Ballet Theatre’s Latino dancers including Principal Dancer Marcelo Gomes of Brazil, Soloists Maria Riccetto of Uruguay and Carlos Lopez of Spain, and corps de ballet members Luciana Paris of Argentina and Renata Pavam of Brazil.

American Ballet Theatre’s Noche Latina will honor two world-renowned Latino artists, fashion designer Carolina Herrera and legendary dancer and former ABT Principal Dancer Julio Bocca. In recognition of their contributions to dance and Latin culture, they will each receive the inaugural Fernando Bujones Award, named for the legendary Cuban-American dancer who performed for much of his career with ABT and who, like Herrera and Bocca, has been an inspiration to audiences all over the world. The awards will be presented at Noche Latina’s pre-performance Award Dinner on the Grand Tier of the Metropolitan Opera House.

Following the performance, the Grand Tier will be transformed into Club Noche Latina, an after-party of desserts and dancing for invited guests. American Ballet Theatre

gratefully acknowledges the generous donation from The Wines of Argentina to Noche Latina.
