It's a good issue, even by the high standards of this publication. I especially appreciated Haegeman from Paris and Simpson from London.

Rita Feliciano's reports on the rich, varied dance scene in the Bay area remind me of the good old days when the Village Voice was full of dance criticism.

Carol Pardo has chosen to make herself a Miami City Ballet expert. She's seen the dancers and the productions enough to allow her to make interesting and useful comparisons, something that can't be expected of someone like Alistair Macaulay of the New York Times.

I would love to subscribe on this quarterly, especially because of the article on Hübbes farewell in the latest issue. But can it really be true that one cannot subscribe or pay in any other way than by sending a letter by snailmail enclosing a "a check, or international money order"? Isn't there any possibility of paying in some on-line way? It costs (at least in Denmark it does) a fortune to have a check made by the bank, about half of the prize for the quarterly itself.

I just learned about DanceView by reading through the Forums (I'm new to Ballet Talk). I read that John Percival had a review of that book by Julie Kavanagh in the Winter 2008 issue. Could some one tell me what his opinion was?

Thank you for the information.

bart (thank you!) summarizes Percival's review here, on the thread titled "Julie Kavanagh's Nureyev Biography".

Thank you Carbro and Bart. I just knew Mr. Percival would hit the nail on the head. I would like to order the Winter 2008 issue of DanceView. Do you know if it is possible (please say yes!), and how much would it cost.

Thanks again for your help. I just love Ballet Talk - I am having a wonderful time reading and learning.
