ViolinConcerto Posted February 26, 2008 Share Posted February 26, 2008 I recently realized that on April 30, 2008 will be 25 years since Mr. B. died. I remember it so clearly.... I've been asking around, and no one has heard of or seen that NYCB is doing anything special to mark the day (other than perform the program "Symphonic Balanchine"). Then someone asked if the Russian Orthodox church he attended on East 93 St. is doing anything. I vaguely remember hearing that they have an annual observance. (And I could be totally wrong!!) Someone mentioned reading (when we were discussing the above question) "that Balanchine observed the Panikheda service for Stravinsky every year on April 6."
