Natalia
The upcoming Rome Opera Ballet season at the Teatro Nazionale will include a reconstruction of Taglioni's La Fille du Danube in April (postponed from Nov. 2007) and a revival of Balanchine's La Chatte -- as reconstructed by M. Hodson a few years ago -- in November 2008. Link to the Rome ballet at the Teatro Nazionale: http://www.operaroma.it/CLIP/Nazionale2008.htm The company will also present rarities at its larger venue, Teatro Costanza (the main Rome Opera House), including a January '08 evening of reconstructed ballets designed by Chirico, including Balanchine Apollon Musagete; not sure if Le Bal and Bacchus et Ariadne are also the old Balanchine versions? This will be followed in February by one-act ballets designed by Picasso, including Parade, Pulcinella, etc. The webpage for the larger theater: http://www.operaroma.it/CLIP/Costanzi2008.htm Very fascinating programming in Rome!
