Seattle Opera "Young Artists" program is doing a performance of 2 short operas (both less than an hour): Bernstein's "Trouble in Tahiti" and "Donizetti's "Rita".

I saw this last nite and was amazed at the quality and fun of the Bernstein number.  ("Rita" I felt was a bit beyond the voices.)  It will be done again tonite at the Capitol Hill Arts Center at 8:00pm (last performance).  I'd make the effort if I were you -- although it is sold out I think; however, I saw tickets being sold at the door for vacant seats in this tiny theater.  Call the box office first maybe.

FYI.....the Seattle Opera Young Artist Program is run by retired opera singer Peter Kazaras (who did a spectacular job of directing "Trouble in Tahiti") and each year gives some 12 emerging singers (out of 500 applicants nationwide) a 5 month coaching and instruction course.
