Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon will hold a FREE to the public, open rehearsal at City Center on Friday, October 19 at 4 pm. Mr. Wheeldon plans to make pre-curtain talks,conducted by choreographers, performing artists and others, a signature event of his new dance company, Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company, to help to demystify ballet and help cultivate a new generation of dance audiences.
October 19th’s open rehearsal will feature Mr. Wheeldon working with several of the dancers from Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company, which is making its U.S. debut at NY City Center October 17 – 21. He will discuss and demonstrate the artistic process involved in creating new works, and hold an open conversation with the audience. Doors will open at 3:30pm; seating is limited and admission is on a first come first served basis.
