Our local public radio station had an interview today with a representative from Ballet Florida today, who mentioned that the company has been invited by Lar Lubovitch to dance his "Elemental Brubeck" at the Chicago Dancing Festival in Millenium Park on August 22. The performance, at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, is free.
Here's a link to the Park's website. (Scroll down to August 22 and click "Chicago Dancing Festival":
Ballet Florida performed "Elemental Brubeck" (with Brubeck in the audience) last winter and apparently pleased Lubovitch so much that he invited them to repeat the performance -- on a program featuring other works performed by members of ABT, Ailey, San Francisco, Mark Morris, Compexions, the Joffrey, and Muntu Dance Theater.
