The current (June 21-28) TIME OUT NEW YORK features an interview with Amanda McKerrow, who mentions that she and her husband John Gardner are leaving ABT. She is NOT retiring but does not mention definite future plans either. Maybe ABT doesn't think this is a terrible loss - not with their other married couple on the roster - but I do.

So the rumours are true that Amanda is leaving ABT. I, too, am saddened to hear that. She moved me most deeply as Odette in a performance with Belotserkovsky last year and I remember a particularly wonderful Swanilda she danced here also a few years ago. The good news is that she and John Gardner have made some guest appearances with the Washington Ballet so perhaps we'll get to see them 'post ABT'.
