rg Posted January 5, 2006 Share Posted January 5, 2006 perhaps you could start with the summary histories in various sourvenir booklets produced for bolshoi ballet tours outside russia. there are often copies from varous years for sale on ebay. you could also try to find the following titles, as catalogued by NYPL dance coll. all these books were published before the demise of the USSR. the post-1990 tours of the troupe would have their summary histories written with a sense of the changes since the end of the soviet union. as for thorough and lengthy histories of this troupe in english, or other non-slavic languages, i know of none. i assume you've checked for a bolshoi theater web site, which likely has a sense of the co's history in both russian and english.
