In the movie "Children of Theater Street," at the graduation performance, there is one dancer that is named Tatiana Podkopayeva. She dances beautifully, and the narrator says that she is a very promising ballerina. However, I have not heard anything about her, and couldn't find anything on Google. Does anyone have information?

She has an entry in Arsen Degen & Igor Stupnikov's recently-published encyclopaedia of Petersburg ballet dancers, titled Petersburgskii Balet, 1903-2003. I'll translate her entry:

PODKOPAEVA (Married name: Eryomicheva), Tat'yana Vasilievna (born July 4, 1959, Leningrad). Laureate of Int'l Ballet Competition (Varna, 1978). Graduated Vaganova Academy in 1977 (class of L. Tyutina). Entire career in Maly Theater Ballet between 1977 - 1994.

Created the following leading roles: Clarisse (Servant to Two Gentlemen), Hera (Heracle), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Madeleine (Fadetta, version of N. Boyarchikov). Additionally, danced the following featured roles: Myrta, Gayane, Masha, Mozartiana soloist, Serenade soloist, Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, Swan Lake Pas de Trois, Fairy Diamond (Sleeping Beauty), Doll (Coppelia), Colombine and Pierette (both in Harlequinade), Street Dancer (Don Quixote), and classical variations in Paquita, Esmeralda and Little Humpbacked Horse.

Had she continued her career elsewhere, as a dancer or coach, it would have been mentioned, as this encyclopaedia tracks the careers of Petersburg dancers and coaches abroad. Hence, it appears that she retired in 1994. Is alive and living as a retiree somewhere.

Elena Vorontsova danced in the Kirov/Mariinsky for many years, and if you watch videos of Kirov performances carefully, you'll notice her in the corps de ballet quite frequently. She also performed soloist roles...Such as one of the 4 ladies in La Bayadere at the wedding (in the white fluffy tutus -- sorry for the poor description). She is in Le Corsaire (in the corps de ballet), Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Esmeralda (with Evteeva and Aliyev I think) and numerous other performances. When I went to 3 Mariinksy performances in 2002, in the booklets, she was mentioned as a coach.

Unfortunately, neither Timoushin nor Vorontsova is in the book, which includes only those dancers who have achieved soloist level or above.

I have no personal knowledge of Timoushin. I saw Vorontsova dance a solo role -- 1st Shade -- as late as 1996. After that, I saw her 'only' as a corps member. As Mohnurka writes, Vorontsova was a company coach for a little while. At present, she teaches the 4th-year classes (mid level) at the Vaganova Academy.

Yes, she does dance in the Sleeping Beauty with Kolpakova. I just forgot about that one!

If you're interested in more precise descriptions of where else she appears: in The Stone Flower as a jewel (in a yellow costume, Lezhnina is next to her). In Sleeping Beauty (can't remember which one) she's one of the court ladies. In Don Quixote -- in "The Dream," one of the three purple dryads, as well as in the "wedding" as one of the guests. You can see her in Backstage at the Kirov as well.
