Immediately following tonight's performance, while on stage after bows, director Frank Andersen announced the promotion of Kristoffer Sakurai to Principal. Sakurai had just danced the role of Carelis in tonight (debut) in Kermesse in Bruges, about which I'll report later. As if that were not enough of a surprise... During the post-performance reception, Andersen announced the promotion of four corps members to Soloist: Yao Wei Susanne Grinder (tonight's Eleonora, Kermesse) Izabela Sokolowka David Kupinski Congratulations to all! - Natalia Nabatova Link to comment

At this morning's company class, we who had attended the reception were surprised and excited to hear about Sokolowska's promotion, too. Hurrah!
