This in, from the Russian news agency, RIA Novosti, about Semyonova, the 20-yr-old 'wonder' of the Berlin troupe that is run by Vladimir Malakhov. We recently saw Semyonova with Malakhov, on the annual Vienna New Year 2005 telecast:

BERLIN, January 11 (RIA Novosti's Taras Lariokhin) - Russian Polina Semenova, the prima ballerina of the State Berlin Ballet, has been awarded the Daphne prize.

The union of Berlin theatre lovers has since 1976 been giving this prize, named after a heroine of the Greek mythology, to debutants and debutantes of metropolitan stages for outstanding creative achievements.

The 20-year-old Semenova finished the Moscow ballet school of the Bolshoi and has already received prestigious prizes at international contests in Russia and Japan.

Polina Semionova is really a wonderful ballerina. I have only seen her in Malakhov's Cinderella that was broadcasted on German TV last year. You cannot avoid falling in love with her!
