fyi: a somewhat recent release from decca (or at least new to me - apologies if this duplicates previous post/annoucements) is called FETE DU BALLET, A COMPENDIUM OF BALLET RARITIES

it's a 10-disc set, not exactly cheap, but it may have recordings the hard-to-find selections on your list.

a full list of the discs can be found on amazon and if you buy it via a click on this site as you may know the site profits a teensy bit.

the notes aren't very informative but some of the selections seem fairly rare to me.

typing 'fete du ballet' in the amazon search line w/ classical music as the category brings up this CD set as the first find.

Rarities is right! I'm unfamiliar with several of the selections. Thanks for this, RG. No, it's not cheap (but they have a double deal so you get this -- 15 hours of ballet music! -- AND Glazunov's "Raymonda")

I have this set (and have given it as a gift to a ballet friend as well), and it's really very good --- the Roy Douglas arrangements of Chopin for Les Sylphides is doing lots of time in my CD player recently. I'm glad to see it available in the US, as it was available previously only in Europe. I first learned about it here:

Andre or rg, is the "glow worm" excpert from Lysistrata the Pavlova glow worm (as in, "glow little glow worm, glimmer, glimmer")? I've been trying to match those two up all day!

That's right, that's the "Pavlova Gavotte". She wore a fashionable frock and heeled shoes to dance it. Oh, and a hat.

It's a pity no one took the trouble to amend those scanty notes. The assertion that there is no current ballet using Massenet's music when Manon has been around for about three decades proves how little care is taken with accompanying booklets.
