Here's a trailer for the film of Mao's Last Dancer.

The film is due for release in Australia on 1st October but I understand that it is due to be shown at the Toronto Film Festival next month.
I'd love to hear reports.

The cast list is interesting:

Amanda Schull, who played the lead in "Center Stage", plays Elizabeth Mackey, Li's first wife, who seems to have been expunged from his official site:

BTW, according to his site, his name is pronounced "Lee Schwin Sing".
Camilla Vergotis, who was trained in Australia and is a soloist for the Hong Kong Ballet, which is one of two featured companies in the film, plays his second wife, Mary McKendry.

Australian Ballet dancers Madeleine Eastoe and Stephen Heathcote appear to be playing themselves.
