GeorgeB fan
I've notice on the ABT website that Sandra Brown name is no longer listed as dancer with ABT. Does any one if she retired, move on to another company or what? I would really like to know because I really enjoy her as a dancer. Link to comment
Leigh Witchel
She isn't retired, mostly she's freelancing. She danced with Complexions and she's performing with Dances Patrelle in Manhattan next week. Link to comment
carbro
She's a very special dancer who, with ABT's emphasis on 19th Century rep, got too few opportunities there to show off her special gifts. I will miss her, although she's probably made the right decision for her career. Link to comment
GeorgeB fan
Leigh, thank you for the information about Ms. Brown. And Carbro your right, Ms. Brown wasn't given as much opportunity as she should have been given. With the right nourishing and guidance she could have become a principal dancer. I hope she is being given all the opportunity to blosom into the first rate dancer that she has already shown that is inside her. Link to comment
cargill
Did you get a chance to see Sandra Brown in Fancy Free? She was the girl with the red pocket book, and she was wonderful, one of my favorites. (Paloma Herrera was no slouch in that role, either.) She was so wonderfull nonchalant and appealing, and very funny. Link to comment
Guest moebiusloop
Ms. Brown will be dancing in mixed bill in Japan from Apr. 28 to May 8. The webpage has the name of "Complexions" under her name, but I don't know if that means she belongs to the company. She will perform in Mr. Dwight Rhoden's "Ave Maria" and "Lately" Mr. Desmond Richardson of Complexions will be dancing with her. I'm going to the show on Apr. 28th. I've never seen these two pieces, so I'm looking forward to them. Sorry if this posting was meddlesome. (And sorry for my bad English) Link to comment
