I'm new here and found some interesting information from former posts. I am writing an article for my daughter's studio newsletter on Ms. Legnani. Some information I've found is of course regarding her talent, her historical contribution to the art of dance, her influence on the Russian community of dance, but I ran across some information regarding her off-stage personality. She seems to have embodied the personality that we are TRYING to instill in the girls these days -- no more divas

Does anyone have a reference for her off-stage personality? Any sort of "community" involvement, such as it could be in the early 1900's?

Thanks for any input you may have for me.

She was nicer than Virginia Zucchi, and that was all you had to be to be a big society hit in St. Petersburg! Of course, The Bride of Frankenstein was nicer than Virginia Zucchi, so....
