Washington Ballet Executive Quits

There are no plans to hire a new executive director. Company manager Kara Skolnick will take over Thompson's financial planning duties in the newly created position of general manager. The rest of his duties -- including long-term planning, development and marketing -- will be assumed by Webre, who signed his second five-year contract with the ballet last week. The company also has recently begun a nationwide search to find a new director for its associated ballet school, who will report to Webre.
