It's not a matter of budget, the cost is zero (almost). Some major companies don't want their dancers to become "stars" or "people". So they don't communicate on individuals, just on the company itself.
But it's a good way for smaller companies to attract a new audience.

This perfomance was filmed a few weeks ago in Paris and aired lived on French/German TV Arte.
No DVD is planned for release so far. We hope Pina Bausch will accept for once.
It's a beautiful piece.
I attended the general rehearsal: a dream! Probably one of the best piece I've ever seen. And I wasn't a big fan of Pina Bausch...
