  1. "Raymonda Variations" is being staged by Darla Hoover of Balanchine Trust with support of Open World Dance Foundation and the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
  2. Correction - "Raymonda" will be performed at Mikhailovsky one night only on November 29, 2014.
  3. Wanted to share some exciting upcoming events. First, the Mikhailovsky Theatre tours the US for the first time. The Mikhailovsky is a "young" ballet company in St. Petersburg, Russia celebrating 80 years as its home theater celebrates 180 years. Performances will be at the David Koch Theater in NYC November 13-23, 2014. The Mikhailovsky Theatre played host to several significant events that are now considered an important part of world ballet history. In 1923, the young Giorgi Balanchivadze, who later changed his name to George Balanchine, staged dances in Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera The Golden Cockerel at the theater. On November 29, 2014, Open World Dance Foundation has made it possible for George Balanchine's "Raymonda Variations" to be performed by students of the famed Vaganova Ballet Academy at Mikhailovsky Theatre. This is the first time students of the school that Balanchine graduated from will perform his work. The Mikhailovsky Theatre and Open World Dance Foundation enjoy collaborating to produce another historical ballet event.
