  1. We're happy to have you join the forum, CGB5. And look forward to your postings.
  2. As Terez mentioned, Rachel Howard wrote about the De Sola/Robison, Jimison/Hernandez and Kuranaga/Greco performances in her piece for the SF Chronicle. It's worth pointing out that the Giselle produciton is one of Helgi Tomasson's very best ballets. Although people often complain that his abstract ballets are not very groundbreaking or memorable, his full-length productions tend to shine. But in either case, Tomasson always did play to his dancers' strengths - he knows how to make them look good. Let's see if Rojo can do the same.
  3. Jasmine with Estaban - I'd like to hear how that performance goes. A fantastic opportunity for Jasmine. Toi toi toi!
  4. Thanks for posting this SF_Herminator - since the casting will disappear from the SFB website, it's nice to have these lists for posterity. Have a great time!
  5. Sasha Mukhamedov getting ready for the Mrytha role: https://www.instagram.com/p/Co-O8xXLcXS/ And Nikisha Fogo too: https://www.instagram.com/p/Co-JI2VLYWU/
  6. We figured it out. 😉 Today is the last day to buy Giselle at 30% off: enter promo code GREATDEAL
  7. I just saw that posting myself. 😉 I'm not sure if it will answer California's questions about the production, but should be fun...
  8. 😃 Looks like the "Old Man" is still around too, to coach the cast for his Giselle. Mukhamedov as Myrtha: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cou0U3pPPGo/
  9. I'm not a Giselle expert so can't really comment on the differences between the various productions, but I can offer you this small peak behind the scenes with Robison and De Sola: https://www.instagram.com/p/Co5Bl0Op7Ep/
  10. Mathilde Froustey's latest 2 IG postings are stamped "San Francisco, California", so she hopefully is back to stay. No announcement in words, but I guess she doesn't want to dwell on the past. https://www.instagram.com/p/Co1WI3qOepB/
  11. Welcome to the forum, LupusMelis.
  12. Apparently Yuan Yuan Tan turned 47 on Valentine's Day. Happy birthday, YY! Still going strong.
  13. I see. Well either it's been removed or I don't have access. It's good to hear she's made it back to SF. I imagine MF has a lot of training to do before she'll actually be in performance shape.
  14. She's back now? Where did you hear about that PeggyTulle?
  15. Maybe, but OBT's seasons are fairly short in comparison to that of the really big companies - with long gaps between programs. That would allow for some back and forth travel to a home in the Bay Area. But who knows? This got me to wondering exactly how old Ingham is now, and I came upon an Australian article talking about a 21 year old Luke Ingham heading to the US for a short study tour with various large companies including SFB. But the article claims to have been published in 1990! That would make Luke 53 or 54 years old. And I don't believe that.
  16. Wow, congratulations to Ms. Rowe.
  17. Rachel Howard has a write up of the Next@90 Festival in the Fjord Review - it's titled "Free Reign". Nothing particularly illuminating, as I recall (that is, nothing that you all haven't already mentioned). Mainly she's keeping track of the number of female choreographers and choreographers of color involved in the new repertoire.
  18. Misa Kuranaga posted some photos on Instagram referencing "SF Ballet in LA" and the Music Center: https://www.instagram.com/p/Coil0JlP1L2/ I haven't heard of any tour plans, but I imagine the dancers know long before the rest of us do. 😉
  19. She posted a nice photo of herself holding son Claude - on the beach in France (probably the Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains area): "It’s been 18 months but it feels like I have known him for all my life and I can’t remember or imagine a life without him." https://www.instagram.com/p/CojVDNbL8_z/
  20. Sasha De Sola posted some footage from The Queen's Daughter: https://www.instagram.com/p/CoaNLNEN_l-/ Dores Andre posted some footage of Resurrection: https://www.instagram.com/p/CoYlyygvKHF/ Sasha Mukhamedov's photos of Violin Concerto: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cofp-SNvFjb/ ...and the Bolero cast: https://www.instagram.com/p/CoSm4mEPkLU/ Joe Walsh's Next@90 photos: https://www.instagram.com/p/CoNsNBMSGTp/

    Maria Kochetkova

I didn't see that coming, but she has been rather quiet this past year, so perhaps she was planning a life change(!). MK never struck me as someone interested in having kids - she always seemed very career focused. But I think she's 38 years old now, so...
  22. Gustavo Dudamel, Star Maestro, to Leave L.A. for New York Philharmonic Dudamel, a charismatic 42-year-old conductor, will take up the Philharmonic’s podium in 2026, in a major coup for the orchestra. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/07/arts/music/new-york-philharmonic-gustavo-dudamel.html Famous conductor takes a high profile job in New York City - who would have guessed? 😉
  23. Ingham has been a fantastic Tybalt in the past. But as you say, casting will be harder to predict now.
  24. I was just making a guess at dates to test their listing. SFB's Romeo & Juliet will run from April 21 - April 30. Juliet is one of Mathilde Froustey's favorite roles, but she's sadly stuck in France with VISA issues. She may miss this entire season. So expect to see some exciting debuts in key roles this year. The young dancers will be moving into popular roles as the old guard fades away...
