I totally agree with you on the "disrespect the established traditions" part.

I personally would NOT recommend Hong Kong Ballet, due to the fact that most ballet learners in Hong Kong quit once they pass their Grade 6 exam, and that to obtain Grade 6, in most cases, are solely to get themselves into a good Secondary School. (Since non-academic activities are valued high in Secondary Schools) Shanghai however, is different. There are people who learn ballet because they want to earn a living by performing ballet. Beijing might also be a good choice too, this video shows a 14 year old from Beijing during the Tao Li Competition

I would be shocked if a ballerina has a tattoo, and would not like to see any signs of tattoos on stage especially when it comes to Classical Ballet. Why would someone who learns classical arts/ dance want a tattoo? To me, a tattoo is something modern or contemporary. However, if the tattoo is on somewhere that can be covered up by costumes, and does not show any signs on stage, I would not think it matters for me.

I personally think that Osipova's strengths are on her physical works and techniques, so I think Don Q would be better than the 2 mentioned. But I would prefer Sylphide over Giselle.

I noticed on youtube that quite a lot of Americans say that they don't like the "Russian Way of Fouettes", and they particularly like to criticize Svetlana Zakharova's and Alina Somova's fouettes for being "not pretty", or "wrong". I personally really like the "looks" of Svetlana's fouettes, so I wonder how is it different from the "usual" way of fouettes from USA, and why they don't like the looks of it. Is it the way they kick the leg out that matters?
